Natural Stone - Travertine Polishing, Honing and Sealing

Natural Stone - Travertine Polishing, Honing and Sealing

Travertine is one of the more widely used natural stone surfaces in the building industry. Travertine comes in tiles, slabs and trim pieces and is commonly used on flooring, counters, showers, and sculptures. Travertine slabs come in a wide array of colors, porousness, and sizes. The finish on travertine can be polished (high gloss) or honed (matte or satin).

Travertine is an investment and should be properly cared for and maintained to prolong its luster and beauty. Travertine is very porous and should be professionally cleaned, polished or honed, and sealed every 2 to 3 years or as needed.

At StoneAge Restoration Services, Inc. we make your stone surfaces look great while standing up to your busy lifestyle. Our experienced office and field staff are here to serve you!

HONED FINISH TRAVERTINE (MOST COMMON FINISH ON TRAVERTINE)

Honed travertine has a dull or satin (natural) finish. We can hone a polished finish stone or polish a honed finish stone. Both finishes have pro's and con's that our service technicians would be happy to discuss with you.

POLISHED FINISH TRAVERTINE

Polished travertine has a high gloss finish that reflects more natural light than a honed finish stone. The color within the travertine tends to look richer, darker and enhanced when polished.
